Scotland's Highlands and North Coast

Before the Mackenzies laid siege to the castle in 1672, the MacLeods owned this land. The castle was built originally in the 1400s by Angus Mor 111 and many murders, executions and violence followed. Subsequent owners added and remodeled, until it was finally destroyed by a lightning strike in 1795.
